SLIPSTREAM CLIENT SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

Installation Instructions

The minimum system requirements are a Pentium 200MHz with 64MB RAM, at least 5MB of hard-drive space running Windows 95b or later. It works with Internet Explorer 4.0 as well as Netscape Communicator 4.0 or any later releases of either browsers. 

Note: If you are using a Macintosh, please go to slipstream setup for Macintosh

1. New dial-up number

Only our new phone numbers support this new acceleration technology.  You must change your dial-up number to use SlipStream service. 

Dial-up numbers can be found here along with instructions on how to change your dial-up phone number.

2. Download.

    SetUp.exe

    Downnload - 992.05KB (992055 bytes)

1.   Download the installer to your desktop.
2.   Once the download has completed, proceed to Step 3.

3. Install.

  1. After downloading the SlipStream Web Accelerator installer onto your Desktop, an icon as shown below will be on your Desktop. Double-clicking on the icon will launch the installer.



     

  2. The installer will guide you through the complete setup process.



     

4. Connect.

  1. As this is your first time launching the product, you will be prompted for a username and password. Webbworks does not require a login for SlipStream Service.

     

     

  2. Click OK. SlipStream Web Accelerator will connect to our SlipStream Servers. 

  3. After installing the SlipStream Web Accelerator, an icon as shown below is placed in your system tray. Opening any web browser launches the SlipStream Web Accelerator.



     

5. Browse the Web.

  1. Browse to a Web site as you normally would.
  2. When finished, simply close your web browser, as you normally would, and SlipStream Web Accelerator will remain idle in your system tray.
  3. If you desire to stop the application after browsing select Stop SlipStream from the pop-up menu (accessed by right-clicking on the icon), or if you desire to exit the application all together click Exit from the pop-up menu.
